Aljaksej Iwanou ( Belarusian Аляксей Аляксеевіч Іваноў * 17th May 1980 in Vitebsk ) is a Belarusian skiers .

Career

Iwanou has been taking part in competitions organized by the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2004 . His best placement at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf was 46th in the 50 km mass start race. In February 2005 he ran his first World Cup race in Reit im Winkl , which he finished with 64th place in the sprint. His best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo were 36th place in the 50 km mass start race and 13th place in the relay. Since 2008 he has mainly competed in the Cross-Country Marathon Cup . In 2009 he won the Demino Ski Marathon for the first time . In November 2009 he achieved his best individual World Cup result so far in Beitostølen with 39th place over 15 km freestyle. In the further course of the season he won the Demino Ski Marathon, the Murmansk Ski Marathon and the Avacha Ski Marathon . At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , he finished 60th in the 15km freestyle, 48th place in the 30km pursuit race and 45th place in the 50km mass start race. In the 2011/12 season he won the Transjurassienne and finished second in the Dolomitenlauf . His best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme were 22nd place over 15 km freestyle and 14th place in the relay. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he reached 46th place in the 50 km mass start race and 14th place in the relay. In April 2014 he won the 50 km freestyle at the Ugra Skimarathon .
