All About Anna (subtitle of the hardcore version: a HeartCore feature ) is a Danish film by the Swedish director Jessica Nilsson .

content

All About Anna is a romantic comedy with pornographic scenes - filmed according to the Pussy Power Manifesto set up by Zentropa in 1998 and produced by women for women . It is an attempt to create a new genre of erotic film based on reality rather than the wish-fulfilling fantasies like traditional porn films .

action

It tells the story of the young Anna, a costume designer. Anna wants to have a varied sex life, without a permanent relationship and free of romance. When her ex-boyfriend Johan shows up again, she is no longer sure whether she can keep her emotions under control and whether she even wants to. At the same time she got a job at a French theater, where she met the actors Pierre and Sophie, who involved her in new amorous adventures.

production

Ultimately, the film remained a joint project, in the production of which men in crucial positions were also involved (camera and editing: Claus Lykke, as well as executive producers Nicolas Barbano, Peter Aalbæk Jensen and Claus Sørensen). In this respect, one cannot speak of a purely female perspective. The (mostly male) producers decided that the final version of director Jessica Nilsson's film wouldn't work. As a result of this decision, the story was rewritten without consulting the director and screenwriters, characters were changed, scenes were re-shot and another cut version was created. For the final version, shots of explicit sex scenes were also used that violated the director's agreement with the lead actress Gry Bay , who has since expressly distanced herself from the film project.

Awards

All About Anna was screened as part of the Zurich Film Festival and Io, Isabella International Film Week .

In 2006 it was nominated for two Eroticline Awards in the categories of Best International Newcomer ( Gry Bay ) and Best International Actor ( Mark Stevens ) .

The film won three Scandinavian Adult Awards in 2007 for Best Scandinavian Couples Film , Best Scandinavian Actor (Thomas Raft) and Best Scandinavian Star of 2006 (Gry Bay) .

The film was chosen on the basis of 30,000 DVDs sold with the "platinum DVD" then common in Denmark. The award was presented in the Erotika Museum in Copenhagen by the well-known Danish TV presenter and sex counselor Joan Ørting to Gry Bay (leading actress), the executive producers Nicolas Brabano and Claus Sørensen and the composer M. Maurice Hawkesworth.

Reviews

“Quality pays off and if All About Anna is certainly not the pornographic film of the year, it is at least the erotic film of the year. Exceptionally good! ”- Thomas Berger on german-adult-news.com

“Women also like to watch people have sex. What they don't like are endless close-ups of banging body parts with no story behind them. Lars von Trier was the first to understand this and produced high quality female porn. ”- Stern , issue no. 40 of September 27, 2007

“Unfortunately, both ALL ABOUT ANNA and FEMALE FANTASIES [by Petra Joy ] are proof that the female pornographic film is still far from an independent film language that does justice to female sexual fantasy. The inability to sexualize the male body and to visualize the satisfaction of the woman turns out to be an essential problem. ”Sabine-Lüdtke-Pilger, Porno instead of PorNo! - The new pornographers are coming. (2010) p. 147

particularities

In Germany there are two different DVD versions of All About Anna . On the one hand, the version called "Producer's Cut" and counting among the porn films without FSK examination (with the subtitle a HeartCore feature ; see infobox film data above), on the other hand a cut erotic film version bearing the designation " Director's Cut " (without the above subtitle; approx. 76 minutes long) with the FSK logo from 16 years of age . Both versions are contained in the available 3-disc DVD box, whereby it is expressly stated on the porn DVD that the director Jessica Nilsson was not involved in the additional cuts.
