action

Rudolf Wohlgemuth is a stoic hermit who shuns human contact rather than looks for it. With his provincial watchmaker's workshop, the man runs a small business that was once a well-known manufacturer and employed several journeymen. Now there is only one employee left with the ambitious Karina. They hardly exchange a word with each other and yet they work perfectly. Then Rudolf's brother Klaus from Hong Kong reports. He would like to have his inheritance share paid out. Rudolf pretends not to be able to pay him because he has started a family.

Klaus is so enthusiastic about this news that he visits Rudolf. In order not to appear as a liar, Rudolf asks Karina to help him. The single mother agrees and moves in with her daughter Julia. Coexistence works surprisingly well. Even Klaus is convinced that he has a newly in love couple in front of him. Rudolf only realizes that he feels something for Karina when he believes that Klaus wants to relax his wife again. Blind with jealousy, he lets the dizziness explode. When Karina then threatens to disappear from his life, he has to face his feelings in order to win them back.

Reviews

“Coherently developed, sympathetic and freshly played (television) comedy about appearance and reality and how time works on feelings. Since the figures are not put in drawers, the conflicts seem understandable and real. "

“Told with love, but very contemplative and as predictable as clockwork. [...] Nice feel-good film that takes its time "

“Against the picturesque backdrop of the half-timbered towns of Wernigerode and, above all, Goslar, the director Andrea Katzenberger managed a warm-hearted comedy. Nice dialogues and amiable characters complete the story about a pretended family and real emotions, standstill and the race against time. In short: a pleasant film that actually makes you smile at times. "
