action
15-year-old Oscar Grubman is known to be sensitive and intelligent, speaks French, enjoys reading Voltaire and attends the Chauncey Academy. However, he falls in love with his stepmother Eve ( Sigourney Weaver ), who recently married his father. When he returns to his home apartment for the Thanksgiving vacation , he decides to confess his love to Eve. After dinner with friends and colleagues of his father, he is supposed to take Daphne Tisch, the daughter of a colleague home, but puts her in a taxi and gets drunk in a bar. On the way home, he gets drunk by Diane Lodder, the best Girlfriend of his stepmother who is taking him home. There is a one-night stand there. Oscar is scared that Diane will tell his father and Eve about the affair, which also happens over dinner. Oscar clarifies the situation when he is alone with Eve after a tennis game and also hints at his love for her. They kiss, then Eve goes to bed. After his father and Eve take Oscar to the train the next day, they say goodbye, and Oscar hooks up with a classmate of the same age.
