Sundance Film Festival / Best Director - Fiction

Winner of the directing award ( US Directing Award: Dramatic ) for the best director of a US feature film (including co-productions) in the competition at the annual Sundance Film Festival .

The award has been presented since the 15th edition of the film festival in 1998. A five-member jury, which changes annually and usually consists of US filmmakers, decides on the award. So far only the filmmaker Eric Mendelsohn (1999 and 2010) has won the award more than once.
