The Alliance for Democratic Renewal ( French : Alliance pour le Renouveau Démocratique , abbreviation: ARD-Adaltchi Mutunchi ) is a political party in Niger .

history

The Alliance for Democratic Renewal was created through a merger of the party Alliance of Nigerien Patriots (RPN-Alkalami) with a group of independent parliamentarians. The founding date of the party is April 12, 2010. Its founding congress took place on August 7 and 8, 2010 in Zinder .

In the presidential election of 2011 came Ousmane Issoufou Oubandawaki at the ARD Adaltchi Mutunchi. He was seventh out of ten candidates with 1.92% of the vote. The party failed to make it into the National Assembly in the 2011 parliamentary elections . In February 2013, party leader Oubandawaki left the ARD Adaltchi Mutunchi to join President Mahamadou Issoufou 's Nigerien Party for Democracy and Socialism (PNDS-Tarayya) . Other officials followed him. In September 2013, the previous General Secretary Laouan Magagi was elected as the new chairman of ARD-Adaltchi Mutunchi . He was confirmed in this position in June 2015. Magagi ran for the party in the 2016 presidential election, finishing tenth of fifteen candidates with 0.82% of the vote. In the parliamentary elections of 2016 , ARD-Adaltchi Mutunchi won two of 171 seats in the National Assembly.
