Haunedorf is a district of the municipality Petersberg in the district of Fulda in Hesse .

The place is in East Hesse on the edge of the Rhön . Federal motorway 7 runs to the west .

On September 1, 1968, the villages of Almendorf, Melzdorf and Stöckels (with the hamlets Unter - and Obergötzenhof ) merged to form the independent municipality of Haunedorf. On December 31, 1971, Haunedorf was incorporated into Petersberg.

To the north of Almendorf lies the Ruppertsmühle in the meadow, supplied with water by the Haune via a mill ditch. In the Fulda aristocratic archives (those of von der Tann) a "Rypprechtehusen" is mentioned in 1433, which is equated with the mill location. A miller Andres Bappert is attested in 1520.
