Almut Zilcher

Almut Zilcher (born September 21, 1954 in Graz ) is an Austrian actress .

Almut Zilcher studied acting at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and graduated in 1974. She played at the Volkstheater in Vienna, Schauspielhaus Frankfurt , Thalia Theater in Hamburg and at the Schauspielhaus Bochum . In 1992 she was named actress of the year by the monthly theater magazine Theater heute .

Until his death in 2013 she worked closely with her husband, the Bulgarian director Dimiter Gotscheff , and was seen in his productions at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz . Zilcher and Gotscheff are parents of one son.

In 2011 she received the Berlin Theater Prize, endowed with 20,000 euros, together with Gotscheff and the actors Samuel Finzi and Wolfram Koch .
