description
Vegetative characteristics
Aloe buhrii grows without a trunk, sprouts and forms dense clumps. The approximately 16 lanceolate-deltoid leaves form rosettes . Your glauke , reddish tinged leaf blade is 40 centimeters long and 9 centimeters wide. There are irregular, white, elongated or H-shaped spots on the leaf surface. The light red, cartilaginous leaf margin is 1.5 to 2 millimeters wide. It has teeth that are shorter than 1 millimeter. The peripheral teeth are 3.5 millimeters apart or flow laterally into one another.
Inflorescences and flowers
The inflorescence consists of seven to 15 branches, of which the lower ones are branched again, and reaches a length of up to 60 centimeters. The loose grapes are almost heady. The yellowish, deltoid-pointed bracts are 5 to 10 millimeters long. The orange-red flowers are on stems 20 to 25 millimeters long . The flowers are 25 to 27 millimeters long and truncated at their base. At the level of the ovary , they have a diameter of 6 millimeters. Above this, they are suddenly narrowed to 4 millimeters and finally widened towards the mouth. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of 6 to 7 millimeters. The stamens and the pen stand out 3 to 6 millimeters from the flower.
Systematics and distribution
Aloe buhrii is widespread in the South African province of North Cape in the Karroid Veldauf slate as well as isolated hill tops at altitudes of about 650 meters.
The first description by John Jacob Lavranos was published in 1971.
