Alois Dienstleder

Alois Dienstleder (born June 17, 1885 in Graz ; † January 31, 1946 there ) was an Austrian politician ( CS and from 1945 ÖVP ) and a governor of Styria .

life and career

After elementary school, Dienstleder attended the community school , then the business school . He learned the trade of bookseller . He made up his Matura in order to study law at the University of Graz . In 1920 he was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD.

The Graz native then completed his judicial and administrative practice. Shortly afterwards he became a member of the Styrian regional government. In 1934 he became a lecturer in administrative and canon law , and a year later he was appointed university professor. Between 1938 and 1945 he was decommissioned by the National Socialists. After the war , however, he was reinstated.

Between 1934 and 1938 Dienstleder was a member of the Austrian State Council and from December 19, 1945 until his death a member of the Federal Council of the successor party of the CS, the ÖVP.

During his time as Federal Councilor, he was also its deputy chairman.

From November 13, 1933 to November 2, 1934, Alois Dienstleder was Governor of Styria and from May 20, 1945 to December 28, 1945 he was Deputy Governor.

He is buried in the St. Leonhard Cemetery in Graz .
