Alois Fischer (theologian)

Alois Fischer (born October 21, 1902 in Rottau near Ruhstorf an der Rott , † August 19, 2003 in Obernzell ) was a German educator , philosopher and theologian .

Life

Alois Fischer, son of the farmer Alois Fischer senior, graduated from high school in Passau in 1922 before studying theology at the Philosophical-Theological College . After he was ordained a priest in 1927 , he was employed as a cooperator in Obernzell and Grafenau until he was released in 1929 to study philosophy and education. In 1934 Alois Fischer received his doctorate as Dr. phil. at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich , then he did pastoral work again in Grafenau. Fischer, who subsequently moved to Passau, was appointed director of the institute at the Pellianum student home in 1937, and in 1941 he switched to the post of director of the Episcopal Study Seminar in St. Max, before taking over the position of director at the St. Valentin Seminar in 1946, which he held until 1953 .

After the reopening of the Philosophical-Theological University of Passau, which was closed by the National Socialists , Alois Fischer was entrusted with the representation of the chair for education and catechetics in November 1945 , in 1947 he was promoted to associate professor and in 1952 to full professor. Alois Fischer, who was rector's office from 1956 to 1958 , and then vice-rector's office until 1960, retired in 1971 . Fischer, who was also active in adult education and teacher training , died in 2003 at the age of 100 in the Obernzell retirement home.
