The Alpeltalhütte is located 1100 meters above sea level in Hinterbrand at the end of Scharitzkehlstrasse and can be reached by car from Berchtesgaden . The former shelter of the Naturfreunde tourist association was a starting point for climbing the Hohen Göll via the Alpeltalsteig or to get to the area around the Jenner .
history
The hut was built in 1919 by the friends of nature. When nature lovers were banned during the Nazi era , the Alpeltalhütte was confiscated in 1934 and looked after by the Berchtesgaden section of the German Alpine Club from 1935 to 1946 . 1954 to 1963 and 1987 the hut was built from scratch. Until the construction of the road from Obersalzberg to Hinterbrand, it was an important base for tours in the Göll area . The hut offered 42 beds, 22 of which were camps . In 2008, the friends of nature finally sold the hut to a private person.
