Development 1953 by Jennerbahn

The Jenner is a 1,874 meter high mountain that belongs to the Göllstock in the Berchtesgaden Alps . It is one of the few mountains in the region that has been accessed by cable car and is therefore very popular.

The Jennergipfel offers a good view of the Watzmann , which is the third highest mountain massif in Germany, and the Königssee , which is 1200 m below . The Jennerbahn , a cable car built between 1952 and 1953 , transports hikers and skiers in 20 minutes from Schönau am Königssee via the middle station ( 1185  m ) to the 1800  m high mountain station just below the summit. From there, a 20-minute walk leads to the summit cross with a good panorama. From 2017 to 2019 the Jennerbahn was replaced by a new building.

Other paths lead in about 30 minutes to the Schneibsteinhaus or in about 40 minutes to the Stahlhaus . The Hohe Brett , Hohe Göll and Schneibstein can also be reached from Jenner. There are also some easy paths through the Berchtesgaden National Park . The Jenner ski area, which was expanded in 1953 on behalf of the Berchtesgaden-Königssee Tourist Region Association, is the most alpine in the region and is considered to be challenging. Ski tours like the Große Reibn are also possible from the Jenner .

Since 2006, the Jennerstier of the German Ski Touring Cup for ski mountaineers has been held annually on the Jenner .

Close to the summit is one of the six transmission systems that serve as pseudolites in the GALILEO test and development environment (GATE) of the European satellite navigation system Galileo to simulate navigation satellites. In addition, on the mountain on 30 October 2014 was commissioned by the Bavarian Radio of transmitter Jenner for DAB - / DAB + broadcasting service commissioned.
