Alper Balaban (born August 1, 1987 in Heilbronn ; † April 12, 2010 in Karlsruhe ) was a German-Turkish soccer player .

Alper Balaban grew up in Gemmingen near his hometown Heilbronn . He started playing soccer at SV Gemmingen in his hometown before moving to SV Sinsheim on the initiative of one of his teachers . He stayed there for two years before moving on to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim , where he spent four years. In 2005 he moved to Fenerbahçe Istanbul . In 2008 he was in the U-21 team of the Turkish national team. Most recently he was loaned to other clubs.

Most recently he played in the Türkiye Futbol Federasyonu 2nd Lig , the third highest division in Turkey, at Linyitspor. He was loaned there from Eskişehirspor in the summer of 2009.

At the beginning of April 2010 Balaban was on the way to contract negotiations in Germany and had a car accident on April 5, 2010 on the B 293 near Bretten , of which he died on April 12.
