Alphonsus Flavian D'Souza SJ (born July 4, 1939 in Mangalore , India ; † April 30, 2016 ) was an Indian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Raiganj .
Life
Alphonsus D'Souza entered the religious community of the Jesuits and received the sacrament of priestly ordination on July 13, 1971 .
On January 26, 1987, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Raiganj . The Bishop of Baruipur , Linus Nirmal Gomes SJ, donated him episcopal ordination on May 17th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Darjeeling , Eric Benjamin , and the Bishop of Lucknow , Alan Basil de Lastic .
