At the 1st Alpine World Ski Championships in Mürren in Switzerland in 1931 , a slalom competition for women was held. This took place on February 19, 1931 on the Winteregg route. The 17-year-old Englishwoman Esmé MacKinnon was crowned the first world champion in goal run .

Each nation was allowed to name six skiers for the competition.

For touching or crossing a gate 6 penalty seconds were added. In the table above, these penalty seconds are already included in the end time and are also shown separately.
