The Alstom Prima EL2U / 4 is an electric locomotive from the French product family of multi-system vehicles Alstom Prima intended for use in freight train service . The locomotive was designed in such a way that it causes the lowest possible acquisition and maintenance costs for the railway company . The locomotives can be used with two different power systems. At the SNCF , they are classified as type BB 27000 .
description
180 locomotives were delivered from 2002, 140 are located in Lens and 40 in Thionville . The commissioning of these locomotives resulted in the decommissioning of older locomotives of the series SNCF CC 7000, SNCF CC 7100 , SNCF BB 8100 and SNCF BB 12000 .
The locomotives are equipped with two end driver's cabs with a central driver's seat and can run under 1.5 kV direct current and 25 kV 50 Hz alternating current . They are used in freight transport and have an ATESS (Black Box). It is driven by four asynchronous motors of type 6 FRA 4567. The maximum speed is 140 km / h. Two pantographs are available:
- a single-phase pantograph (SX 001 BU) for operation below 25 kV 50 Hz;
- a pantograph (SX 002 BB) for operation below 1.5 kV.
For use under the midi overhead contact line in the south of France, which is fed with 1.5 kV direct current but has a different contact line geometry, 60 vehicles were equipped with a modified pantograph. These locomotives can be recognized by an "M" behind the vehicle number.
Locomotives at other companies
The freight transport of the SNCF (SNCF Fret) has been in crisis since the mid-2000s. Therefore 70 locomotives were leased to Akiem (subsidiary of SNCF), 15 of which were repainted in gray. They are in turn rented to private railway companies (EVU). The following locomotives were repainted in gray: BB 27111 - 27115, 27141, 27157, 27158, 27160, 27161, 27163, 27166, 27167, 27169, 27179.
Four other locomotives were painted in the colors of VFLI , this concerns 27116, 27117, 27118 and 27139. Four locomotives are leased to ECR : 27141, 27156, 27159 and 27162, the last three of which are painted in the colors of ECR.
Stationings
- Since 2011, 157 locomotives have had the “Superviseur Technique de Flotte” (STF) system (German: technical monitoring of the fleet) . The BB 27000 series is the abbreviation for this system “STF Loc. Elec. Fret "( S uperviseur T echnique de F lotte of Loc omotives Elec Triques de Fret , dt .: Technical Supervision of the fleet of freight locomotives). This makes it possible to service a locomotive in any depot.
- The 17 locomotives owned by Akiem have the “Supervision technique de flotte tiers” (SFT) system (Eng .: technical supervision of the fleet of third parties).
