history

First mention

The place was first mentioned in 1436 when the Limpurg family bought a fief here ; the remaining goods belonged to the Lorch monastery . Altersberg emerged from a single farm, which in 1538 is also called "Zum Hag". Before 1580 this farm was divided into eight estates with buildings.

Altersberg community

Altersberg was the eponymous place and temporary seat of the community of Altersberg. Before being incorporated into Gschwend, this consisted of the village of Horlachen , the hamlets of Altersberg, Brandhof , Eichenkirnberg , Hagkling , Hundsberg , Lämmershof, Pritschenhof, Sturmhof, Vorderes Breitenfeld and Wasserhof, the farms Felgenhof, Glasseshof, Haghöfle, Haghof, Hengstberg, Hinteres Breitenfeld, Hugenbeckenreute, Krämersberg, Neumühle, Pfeiferhof, Schierhof, Seehöfle and Ziegelhütte. In the former municipality are the abandoned villages Alten-Gleyssern, Gauchs- or Jauchshausen, Krebenhaus (Krämershof), Talheim and Hundsberger Sägmühle. The community belonged to the Oberamt Gaildorf and came with this in 1938 to the district of Backnang . With the exception of Felgenhof, which was part of Old Württemberg and came to the municipality of Altersberg from the Welzheim District Office in 1808 , the municipality was limpurgic and only came completely to Württemberg in 1806 .

On January 1, 1972, Altersberg was incorporated into the community of Gschwend.
