The Altwiesenbach (also called Haardtbach im Oberlauf and Au im Unterlauf in the German basemap ) is a 2.8 km long, eastern and orographically left tributary of the Sieg in the districts of the villages of Grissenbach and Nenkersdorf in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

geography

course

The Altwiesenbach rises in the Siegerland Rothaar Vorhöhen , which merge into the southern reaches of the Rothaargebirge . Its source is about 484  m above sea level. NHN on the southwest slope of the 579.9  m high Nordhelle mountain .

The Altwiesenbach flows mainly in a south-westerly direction. After about 0.9 kilometers (km) of flowing, it takes up the Winkelbach on the left in a meadow landscape that is lined with forest, which rises on the northern slope of the Hellerkopf ( 551.8  m ). From there it continues for about 0.3 km in a south-westerly direction, north to north-westerly past the Sonnenhof farm, until it takes in the Strubach, its largest tributary, which rises from the Heinenberg . Then it makes an arc and flows briefly in a westerly direction. It feeds three ponds, then it crosses a small asphalt path and turns back to the southwest.

After that the Altwiesenbach flows almost 1.2 kilometers parallel to the Rhine tributary Sieg , and then in Grissenbach at about 336  m above sea level. NHN flow into the victory coming there from the northeast .
