Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein is an American animated comedy horror film from 1999 produced by Bagdasarian Productions, LLC. and Universal Cartoon Studios and distributed by Universal Studios Home Video. It is directed by Kathi Castillo, written by John Loy, and based on characters from Alvin and the Chipmunks and Mary Shelley's 1816 novel Frankenstein. This is the first of three Alvin and Chipmunks direct-to-video films and the first of three Universal Cartoon Studios productions animated overseas by Tama Productions in Tokyo, Japan.
action
The Chipmunks perform in the theme park "Majestic Movie Studios" (a parody of Universal Studios Hollywood). During a concert break, the chipmunks are lost and are eventually trapped in the park. You wander around and come to "Frankenstein's Castle", where a real Dr. Victor Frankenstein is working on his monster. When the monster comes to life, Frankenstein lets him chase the Chipmunks. During their escape, Theodores loses his teddy bear, which is found by the monster.
The monster follows the chipmunks and returns the bear to Theodore, making them both friends. The Chipmunks now learn that the monster Theodore named "Frankie" is basically very kind-hearted. Frankenstein, who wants his monster back, kidnaps Alvin. To save their friend, Simon, Theodore and Frankie rush back to the park. There, Alvin is being given a potion by Frankenstein, which causes a strong electric shock. While Frankie frees Alvin, Simon steals Frankenstein's potions book. A short time later, Alvin's magic potion unfolds its full effectiveness and he turns into a crazy cartoon monster. Alvin causes a lot of chaos on his way through the park. With the help of the magic potion book, Simon and Theodore mix an antidote from different ingredients and feed it to Alvin during his rampage. Alvin returns to normal and the Chipmunks play their concert the old way. Theodore now introduces Frankie to the public and promises that the monster will not harm anyone if you treat it kindly.
