Amauri (actually Amauri Carvalho De Oliveira ; born June 3, 1980 in Carapicuíba ) is a Brazilian - Italian football player on the position of the striker .

Club career

Beginnings

Amauri started his career at the Santa Caterina Clube , with which he participated in the prestigious Torneo di Viareggio in Italy in 2000 . There the Brazilian caused a stir with two goals against FC Empoli, among other things, and attracted the interest of some Italian clubs. In March 2000 Amauri moved to the Swiss club AC Bellinzona in what was then the National League B , for which he only came to five missions due to a knee injury , in which he scored a goal.

Change to Italy

In January 2001 Amauri was brought into the Italian Serie A by AC Parma . Here it was never used, but was "parked" at various clubs until 2005. From January to June 2001 the Brazilian was loaned to SSC Napoli , for whom he made his Serie A debut on April 14, 2001 in a 1-0 away win against AS Bari . 2001/02 ran the Brazilian for Piacenza Calcio in Serie A, 2002/03 he played for FC Messina in Serie B , where he earned a place in the regular formation and was recommended for Serie A.

Chievo Verona

In 2003 Amauri moved to AC Chievo Verona , where he made his final breakthrough. In the summer of 2005, the Verona club secured all of its transfer rights. In the 2005/06 season Amauri scored eleven goals in 37 Serie A games for Chievo.

US Palermo

In the 2006/07 season , the Brazilian moved to US Palermo for around 8.5 million euros , where he caught the attention of some of the big clubs, especially in the 2007/08 season, with 15 goals in 34 games.

Juventus Turin

On May 30, 2008, after long negotiations, Amauri signed a four-year contract with the Italian record champions Juventus Turin . As part of the transfer, midfielder Antonio Nocerino moved from Juve to US Palermo for € 7.5 million , which also received € 22.8 million in transfer. The striker made his competitive debut on August 13, 2008 in the Champions League qualifier against Artmedia Bratislava .

At Juventus, the Brazilian earned a place straight away , also due to David Trezeguet's long injury .

AC Florence and FC Parma

In January 2012, Amauri moved to Fiorentina for 500,000 euros after he had not played a role in the plans of the new Juventus coach Antonio Conte for a long time . After six months in Tuscany, he joined first division rivals FC Parma (formerly AC Parma ) in June 2012 .

Torino FC

In the 2014/15 season , Amauri moved to Turin .

National team

Although he was born in Brazil, he applied for Italian citizenship because he is married to a Brazilian woman of Italian descent and intended to play for the Italian national team as soon as he possessed it . In January 2009 Amauri was nominated by Dunga in the Brazilian national team for the friendly against Italy, but Juventus Turin refused to release him. He received Italian citizenship in April 2010.

On August 6, 2010 Amauri was appointed to the squad of the Italian senior team for the international match against Ivory Coast on August 10, 2010. The attacker was in the starting lineup of the Squadra Azzurra .
