American Discovery Trail
The American Discovery Trail is a long-distance transcontinental hiking trail through the United States .

Starting at Cape Henlopen , Delaware on the Atlantic in Cape Henlopen State Park of the same name , it crosses 15 states ( Colorado , Delaware, Illinois , Indiana , Iowa , California , Kansas , Kentucky , Maryland , Missouri , Nebraska , Nevada , Ohio , Utah , West Virginia ) and ends after approximately 10,800 km (6,800 miles) at the Cape of Point Reyes in Point Reyes National Seashore , California.
Between Ohio and Colorado, the route runs through Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska in a northern part, and through Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Kansas in a southern part.
