Aminata Touré (born November 15, 1992 in Neumünster ) is a German politician from Alliance 90 / The Greens . She has been a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament since June 29, 2017 and vice-president since August 28, 2019 .

Life

Her parents fled to Germany after the 1991 coup in Mali . After graduating from the Faldera comprehensive school in Neumünster in 2011 , she began studying political science and French philology at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel , which she completed with a bachelor's degree in 2016 . She spent a semester abroad in 2013/2014 at the Complutense University of Madrid . From 2014 to 2017 she worked for the Bundestag member Luise Amtsberg .

In 2012 Touré became a member of the Green Youth Kiel, whose spokeswoman she was elected in 2013. In 2016 she was elected as a member of the board of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Schleswig-Holstein . She held this office until the state elections in 2017.

Touré was a candidate of the Green Youth Schleswig-Holstein for the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein 2017 , in which she came in 11th place on the list. She also ran as a direct candidate in the Neumünster state electoral district . After the election, Touré was initially not represented in the state parliament, as Alliance 90 / The Greens only won ten seats. She replaced Monika Heinold , who resigned her mandate after being reappointed finance minister. In the parliamentary group she is the spokesperson for flight and migration , women's policy and equality, and consumer protection .

After their group colleague Rasmus Andresen moved to the European Parliament in June 2019 and resigned his office as Vice President of the State Parliament, the members of the Coalition Touré elected his successor in the Presidium of the State Parliament on August 28, 2019. She is the first Afro-German and youngest vice-president of a German state parliament.
