Ammensen is a village and southern district of the patch Delligsen in the district of Holzminden , Lower Saxony .

Geographical location

Ammensen is located - between Hanover and Göttingen - in the Leinebergland between the mountain ranges of Selter in the east, Hube in the south and Hils in the west. The small village is located at around 185 to 205  m above sea level. NN .

history

The place name developed from Amenhusen, Ammenhusen and Amansen to Ammensen. From the early naming it is deduced that the place arose as early as the 7th or 8th century on the old long-distance trade route, which can be found today as Bundesstraße 3 . Ammensen was first mentioned in a document in 1180 in a confirmation of goods from the Bishop of Hildesheim for the Backenrode monastery.

1846 was in Delligsen Post expedition set up to the Verteilbezirk also Brunkensen belonged High Büchen, Kopp ditch Grünenplan Markeldissen, Kaierde, dark valley and Varrigsen; previously the place had been served from Mühlenbeck
