Amphidamas (Tegea)

Amphidamas ( Greek  Ἀμφιδάμας ) is a figure in Greek mythology .

He is the son of the Nemean King Lycurgus and Kleophile or Euronyme. According to the library of Apollodorus , he was the father of Meilanion and the Antimache (or Admete ) who married Eurystheus .

According to a Scholion for the Iliad , which refers to Hesiod , Amphidamas was the grandfather of Eurystheus through a daughter Artibia (or Antibia). According to others, he is the son of the son of Zeus Arkas and father of either Aleos or Lycurgus. In Pausanias finally and Apollonius Rhodius Amphidamas is the son of Aleos and brother of Lycurgus, of Cepheus and the eye . In this context he is also a participant in the Argonaut procession , a version that has also been handed down to Hyginus .
