Amphoe Dong Charoen ( Thai : อำเภอ ดง เจริญ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the southeast of Phichit Province . Phichit Province is located in the southern part of the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from west): Bang Mun Nak and Thap Khlo Amphoe of Phichit Province, Chon Daen of Phetchabun Province and Nong Bua of Nakhon Sawan Province .

history

Mae On was first established on July 15, 1996 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by splitting off five tambon from Bang Mun Nak . On May 15, 2007, the Thai government decided to raise all 81 subdistricts to "normal" Amphoe status in order to simplify administration. With its publication in the Royal Gazette on August 24, 2007, this decision officially entered into force.

The district of Dong Charoen is divided into five tambon ("subdistricts" or "municipalities"), which are further divided into 55 muban ("villages").

Local administration

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Wang Bong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วัง บ ง ค์ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Samnak Khun Nen.
  • Samnak Khun Nen (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สำนัก ขุน เณร ) consisting of parts of the tambon Samnak Khun Nen.

There are also four " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Wang Ngio Tai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล วัง งิ้ว ใต้ ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Ngio Tai.
  • Wang Ngio (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล วัง งิ้ว ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Ngio.
  • Huai Ruam (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ห้วย ร่วม ) consisting of the complete tambon Huai Ruam.
  • Huai Phuk (Thai: องค์การ บริหารส่วน ตำบล ห้วย พุก ) consisting of the complete tambon Huai Phuk.
