Amphoe Pho Prathap Chang ( Thai : อำเภอ โพธิ์ประทับช้าง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the west of Phichit Province . Phichit Province is located in the southern part of the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from north): the Amphoe Sam Ngam , Mueang Phichit , Taphan Hin , Bueng Na Rang of Phichit Province and Bueng Samakkhi of Kamphaeng Phet Province .
history
Pho Prathap Chang County was founded on June 24, 1967, initially as a “branch circle” ( King Amphoe ) , consisting of tambon , which was split off from the Mueang Phichit and Pho Thale districts. On September 1, 1973, Pho Prathap Chang received full Amphoe status.
The district was named after the Buddhist temple ( Wat ) Wat Pho Prathap Chang, which was built by King Phrachao Suea of Ayutthaya at his birthplace. Only the ruins of this temple can be seen today.

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:
- Phai Rop (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ไผ่ รอบ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Phai Rop.
- Pho Prathap Chang (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โพธิ์ประทับช้าง ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Chik and the parts of the tambon Pho Prathap Chang, Phai Tha Pho.
There are also five " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)
- Pho Prathap Chang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล โพธิ์ประทับช้าง ) consisting of parts of the tambon Pho Prathap Chang.
- Phai Tha Pho (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ไผ่ ท่า โพ ) consisting of parts of the tambon Phai Tha Pho.
- Dong Suea Lueang (Thai: องค์การ บริหารส่วน ตำบล ดง เสือ เหลือง ) consisting of the complete tambon Dong Suea Lueang.
- Noen Sawang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เนิน สว่าง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Noen Sawang.
- Thung Yai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ทุ่งใหญ่ ) consisting of the complete tambon Thung Yai.
