Amphoe Wang Sai Phun ( Thai : อำเภอ วังทรายพูน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the northeast of Phichit Province . Phichit Province is located in the southern part of the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from the south): the Amphoe Taphan Hin , Mueang Phichit and Sak Lek of Phichit Province, and Noen Maprang of Phitsanulok Province .

history

Wang Sai Phun was initially set up on August 1, 1975 as a “branch circle” ( King Amphoe ) by splitting off the three tambon Wang Sai Phun, Nong Phra and Nong Pla Lai from Mueang Phichit . On July 13, 1981, Wang Sai Phun received full Amphoe status. On September 23, 1993, the Tambon Nong Plong from Mueang Phichit was also incorporated.

Wang Sai Phun County is divided into four tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further divided into 57 muban ("villages").

Local administration

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Wang Sai Phun (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วังทรายพูน ) consisting of the parts of the tambon Wang Sai Phun, Nong Phra.
  • Nong Plong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง ปล้อง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Plong.

There are also three " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Wang Sai Phun (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล วังทรายพูน ) consisting of parts of the tambon Wang Sai Phun.
  • Nong Pla Lai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง ปลา ไหล ) consisting of the complete tambon Nong Pla Lai.
  • Nong Phra (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง พระ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Nong Phra.
