Amphoe Mueang Phichit (in Thai : อำเภอ เมือง พิจิตร ) is the district ( Amphoe - administrative district) of the provincial capital of Phichit Province in the northern region of Thailand .
Phichit is also a city ( Thesaban Mueang ) in Phichit Province .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from east): Amphoe Sak Lek , Wang Sai Phun , Taphan Hin , Pho Prathap Chang and Sam Ngam in Phichit Province and Amphoe Bang Krathum of Phitsanulok Province .
history
In 1917, the Mueang district was renamed Tha Luang ( ท่า หลวง ). From 1938 he was then called Mueang Phichit .
