Amphoe Noen Maprang ( Thai อำเภอ เนินมะปราง ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) in the south of Phitsanulok Province . The Phitsanulok Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .
geography
Amphoe Noen Maprang is located in the south of Phitsanulok Province within the basin of the Mae Nam Nan (Nan River) , which flows into the Mae Nam Chao Phraya . The source of Maenam Chomphu (Chomphu River) is in the county. The Khlong Ban Mung ( คลอง บ้าน มุง ) and the Khlong Sai Yoi ( คลอง ไทร ย้อย ) also flow through Noen Maprang.
Neighboring counties are viewed clockwise from the north: Wang Thong district in Phitsanulok province, Khao Kho district , Mueang Phetchabun and Wang Pong district in Phetchabun province, and Thap Khlo , Wang Sai Phun and Sak Lek district in Phichit province .
history
Amphoe Noen Maprang was formed as a small district ( King Amphoe ) on September 1, 1976 , in order to get a better grip on the problems in the region caused by the communist rebels in northern Thailand in the 1970s . Originally, Noen Maprang was part of the Wang Thong district . Noen Maprang received full amphoe status on April 1, 1983.

Local administration
There are three small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district :
- Noen Maprang ( เทศบาล ตำบล เนินมะปราง ) consists of parts of the Tambon Noen Maprang,
- Sai Yoi ( เทศบาล ตำบล ไทร ย้อย ) consists of the entire tambon Sai Yoi,
- Ban Mung ( เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน มุง ) consists of the entire tambon Ban Mung.
There are also five “Tambon Administrative Organizations” (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Administrative Organizations) for the tambon in the district that do not belong to any city.
