Amphoe Bang Rakam ( Thai : อำเภอ บางระกำ ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in Phitsanulok Province . The Phitsanulok Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .
geography
Neighboring Amphoe are seen from the north: Phrom Phiram , Phitsanulok and Bang Krathum in Phitsanulok Province, Sam Ngam and Wachirabarami in Phichit Province , Lan Krabue in Kamphaeng Phet Province and Khiri Mat and Kong Krailat in Sukhothai Province .
Important water sources are the Mae Nam Yom (Yom River) and the Khlong Bang Kaeo (Bang Kaeo Canal) .
history
Bang Rakam was established on December 10, 1905 under the name Chumsaeng (Thai: ชุมแสง ). Khun Phadet Prachadun was the first chairman of the Amphoe. Later, King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) ordered that the name of the circle should correspond to that of the central tambon. Therefore, on April 24, 1917, the name was changed to Bang Rakam.

There are five small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the county:
- Bang Rakam ( เทศบาล ตำบล บางระกำ ) consists of parts of the tambon of the same name ,
- Plak Raet ( เทศบาล ตำบล ปลัก แรด ) consists of parts of the tambon of the same name ,
- Phan Sao ( เทศบาล ตำบล พัน เสา ) consists of the entire tambon Phan Sao,
- Bueng Raman ( เทศบาล ตำบล บึง ระ มา ณ ) consists of further parts of the Tambon Plak Raet,
- Bang Rakam Mueang Mai ( เทศบาล ตำบล บางระกำ เมือง ใหม่ ) consists of further parts of the Tambon Bang Rakam.
There are also eight “Tambon Administrative Organizations” (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) for the tambon in the district that do not belong to any city.
