Amphoe Na Yai Am ( Thai : อำเภอ นา ยาย อาม ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the west of Chanthaburi Province . The Chanthaburi Province is located in the east of the central region of Thailand .

geography

Neighboring Amphoe (clockwise from the west): Amphoe Klaeng in Rayong Province and Amphoe Kaeng Hang Maeo and Tha Mai in Chanthaburi Province. In the southwest lies the Gulf of Thailand .

history

The "Branch Circle" ( King Amphoe ) Na Yai Am was established on April 1, 1992 by separating the five western tambon of Amphoe Tha Mai . On December 5, 1996, Na Yai Am got full amphoe status.

Na Yai Am County is divided into six tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 67 muban ("villages").

Local administration

There are three municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Sanam Chai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สนามไชย ) consisting of the complete Tambon Sanam Chai.
  • Chang Kham (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ช้าง ข้าม ) consisting of the complete tambon Chang Kham.
  • Na Yai Am (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล นา ยาย อาม ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Na Yai Am.

There are also four " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Na Yai Am (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล นา ยาย อาม ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Na Yai Am.
  • Wang Tanot (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล วัง โตนด ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Tanot.
  • Krachae (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล กระแจะ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Krachae.
  • Wang Mai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล วัง ใหม่ ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Mai.
