Amphoe Pong Nam Ron ( Thai : อำเภอ โป่งน้ำร้อน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the east of Chanthaburi Province . The Chanthaburi Province is located in the east of the central region of Thailand .

geography

Neighboring counties (clockwise from southwest): Amphoe Khlung , Makham , Khao Khitchakut and Soi Dao of Chanthaburi Province. To the east are the Battambang and Pailin provinces of Cambodia .

history

The subdistrict ( King Amphoe ) of Pong Nam Ron was raised to full Amphoe status on July 25, 1941.

Pong Nam Ron County is divided into five tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 47 muban ("villages").

Local administration

There are four municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Thap Sai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ทับ ไทร ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Thap Sai.
  • Pong Nam Ron (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โป่งน้ำร้อน ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Thap Sai, Pong Nam Ron.
  • Nong Ta Khong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง ตา คง ) consisting of the complete tambon Nong Ta Khong.
  • Khlong Yai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล คลองใหญ่ ) consisting of the complete tambon Khlong Yai.

There are also two " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Pong Nam Ron (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล โป่งน้ำร้อน ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Pong Nam Ron.
  • Thep Nimit (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เทพ นิมิต ) consisting of the complete tambon Thep Nimit.
