Pla Pak District ( Thai : อำเภอ ปลาปาก ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) of the province of Nakhon Phanom . The province of Nakhon Phanom is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from north): Mueang Nakhon Phanom , Renu Nakhon , Na Kae and Wang Yang districts in Nakhon Phanom Province and Phon Na Kaeo and Kusuman districts in Sakon Nakhon Province .

history

The area of ​​today's county was originally a tambon in the Mueang Nakhon Phanom district . On June 16, 1965, it was promoted to a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) , initially consisting of the three tambon Pla Pak, Nong Hi and Ku Ta Kai. The first district chairman was a certain Winai Bunratnaplin ( ร. ท. วินัย บุญ รัตน ผลิน ). On November 17, 1971, Pla Pak was promoted to Amphoe.
