Wat Phra That Phanom

Amphoe That Phanom ( Thai : อำเภอ ธาตุพนม ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in Nakhon Phanom Province . The province of Nakhon Phanom is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

That Phanom County is located in the southeast of the province, about 50 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital.

Neighboring districts (from the south clockwise) Amphoe Wan Yai , Mueang Mukdahan and Dong Luang of Mukdahan Province and Amphoe Na Kae , Renu Nakhon and Mueang Nakhon Phanom Province Nakhon Phanom. To the east on the other bank of the Mekong lies the Laotian province of Khammuan .

Attractions

• Wat Phra That Phanom - Buddhist temple complex ( Wat ) in the center of the district capital not far from the Mekong . It is the most revered Buddhist religious site in northeast Thailand. It is visited by both the Thai and Laotians .

• Fang Daeng (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ฝั่ง แดง ), consisting of the entire tambon Fang Daeng.
• Nam Kam (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล น้ำ ก่ำ ), consisting of the entire tambon Nam Kam.
• Na Nat (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล นา หนาด ), consisting of the entire tambon Na Nat.
• That Phanom (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ธาตุพนม ), consisting of the other parts of the tambon That Phanom and That Phanom Nuea,
