Amphoe Mueang Mukdahan ( Thai อำเภอ เมือง มุกดาหาร ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) in the Mukdahan Province . The province of Mukdahan is located in the east of the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

The county Mukdahan is located on the west bank of the Mekong , opposite to Laos belonging Province Sawannakhet . The provincial capital is almost 750 kilometers from the capital Bangkok .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from southeast): Amphoe Don Tan , Nikhom Kham Soi , Nong Sung , Khamcha-i , Dong Luang of the province of Mukdahan, Amphoe That Phanom of the province of Nakhon Phanom and Amphoe Wan Yai in turn from the province of Mukdahan.

history

The city and the surrounding area have long been under the influence of Laotian rulers and the Khmer , whose traces are still visible today.

The history of the Mukdahan District goes back to the Mueang Mukdahan, which was administered by the Monthon Udon Thani . In 1907 it became an amphoe of Nakhon Phanom Province . On September 27, 1982, the southern part of Nakhon Phanom was separated. This gave rise to the new Mukdahan Province, with Amphoe Mukdahan becoming the central district of the new province and therefore renamed Amphoe Mueang Mukdahan.

  • Phueng Daet (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ผึ่ง แดด ) consisting of the entire Tambon Phueng Daet.
  • Na Sok (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล นา โสก ) consisting of the entire Tambon Na Sok.
  • Na Si Nuan (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล นา สี น วน ) consisting of the entire tambon Na Si Nuan.
