Amphoe Plaeng Yao (in Thai : อำเภอ แปลง ยาว ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) in the Province of Chachoengsao . The Chachoengsao Province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from the west): Ban Pho , Bang Khla , Ratchasan , Phanom Sarakham and Sanam Chai Khet in Chachoengsao Province and Ko Chan , Phanat Nikhom and Phan Thong in Chonburi Province .

history

Plaeng Yao was initially set up as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) on October 16, 1978 by separating the three tambon Plaeng Yao, Hua Samrong and Wang Kaen from the Bang Khla district . On March 15, 1985, Plaeng Yao was promoted to Amphoe.

Plaeng Yao County is divided into four tambon (“subdistricts” or “parishes”), which are further divided into 48 muban (“villages”).

Local administration

There are four municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Thung Sadao (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ทุ่ง สะเดา ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Plaeng Yao, Wang Yen.
  • Plaeng Yao (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แปลง ยาว ) consisting of the parts of the tambon Plaeng Yao, Wang Yen.
  • Hua Samrong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หัว สำโรง ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Hua Samrong.
  • Wang Yen (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วัง เย็น ) consisting of parts of the tambon Wang Yen.

There are also three " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Plaeng Yao (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล แปลง ยาว ) consisting of parts of the tambon Plaeng Yao.
  • Hua Samrong (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หัว สำโรง ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Hua Samrong.
  • Nong Mai Kaen (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง ไม้แก่น ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Mai Kaen.
