Amphoe Sanam Chai Khet ( Thai : อำเภอ สนามชัยเขต ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the east of Chachoengsao Province . The Chachoengsao Province is located in the eastern part of the central region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts (from the west in the clockwise) Amphoe Plaeng Yao and Phanom Sarakham in the province of Chachoengsao, the Amphoe Si Maha Phot and Kabin Buri in the province Prachin Buri , Amphoe Khao Chakan the province of Sa Kaeo , Amphoe Tha Takiap again in Chachoengsao and Ko Chan Amphoe in Chon Buri Province .

history

Mueang Sanam Chai Khet ( เมือง สนาม ไช ย์ เขต ต์ ) was already a city ( Mueang ) in the Kingdom of Ayutthaya , as were the neighboring Mueang Phanat Nikhom ( เมือง พนัสนิคม ) and Mueang Phanom Sarakham ( เมือง พนมสารคาม ).

On January 6, 1966, the three tambon Khu Yai Mi, Tha Kradan and Tha Takiap were separated from the Amphoe Phanom Sarakham to create the “branch circle” ( King Amphoe ) Sanam Chai ( สนามไชย ). On December 14, 1972, it was renamed Sanam Chai Ket. On June 28, 1973, Sanam Chai Khet was granted full amphoe status.

The district of Sanam Chai Khet is divided into four tambon ("sub-districts" or "municipalities"), which are further subdivided into 70 muban ("villages").

There is one municipality with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Sanam Chai Khet (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สนามชัยเขต ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Khu Yai Mi.

There are also four " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Khu Yai Mi (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล คู้ ยาย หมี ) consisting of parts of the tambon Khu Yai Mi.
  • Tha Kradan (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ท่า กระดาน ) consisting of the complete Tambon Tha Kradan.
  • Thung Phraya (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ทุ่ง พระยา ) consisting of the complete tambon Thung Phraya.
  • Lat Krathing (Thai: องค์การ บริหารส่วน ตำบล ลาด กระทิง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Lat Krathing.
