Amphoe Sukhirin ( Thai อำเภอ สุคิริน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the south of Narathiwat Province . The province of Narathiwat is located in the southeast of the southern region of Thailand on the border with Malaysia.
geography
Neighboring counties and areas are (clockwise from northwest): the Amphoe Chanae , Ra-ngae , Su-ngai Padi and Waeng of Narathiwat Province. In the south lies the Kelantan state of Malaysia .
history
On March 1, 1977 Sukhirin was initially set up as a small district ( King Amphoe ) by separating the Tambon Mamong and Sukhirin from the Amphoe Waeng . On January 21, 1986, Sukhirin received full amphoe status.

Local administration
Sukhirin ( เทศบาล ตำบล สุคิริน ) is a small town ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district, it consists of parts of the Tambon Sukhirin, Mamong and Kia.
There are also five “tambon administration organizations” (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ) for the tambon or the parts of tambon in the county that do not belong to any town.
