Amphoe Tamot ( Thai : อำเภอ ตะ โหมด ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in Phatthalung Province . Phatthalung Province is located in the southern region of Thailand , about 840 kilometers south of Bangkok on the Malay Peninsula .

Neighboring districts and territories (from the north clockwise): Amphoe Kong Ra , Khao Chaison , Bang Kaeo and Pa Bon in the province of Phatthalung and Amphoe Palian of Trang province .

history

Tamot was initially set up as a subdistrict ( King Amphoe ) on August 1, 1977 , when it was separated from the Khao Chaison district . On March 20, 1986, Tamot was promoted to Amphoe.

Local administration

There are five small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the county:

  • Tamot ( เทศบาล ตำบล ตะ โหมด ) consists of parts of the Tambon Tamot and Khlong Yai.
  • Mae Khari ( เทศบาล ตำบล แม่ ข รี ) consists of parts of the Tambon Mae Khari.
  • Khao Hua Chang ( เทศบาล ตำบล เขา หัว ช้าง ) consists of further parts of the Tambon Tamot.
  • Khuan Sao Thong ( เทศบาล ตำบล ควน เสา ธง ) consists of further parts of the Tambon Mae Khari.
  • Khlong Yai ( เทศบาล ตำบล คลองใหญ่ ) consists of further parts of the Tambon Khlong Yai.
