Amphoe Mueang Phatthalung ( Thai : อำเภอ เมือง พัทลุง ) is the administrative district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) of the capital of Phatthalung Province . The Phatthalung Province is located in the southern region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts and areas (clockwise from south): Amphoe Khao Chaison , Kong Ra , Srinagarindra and Khuan Khanun in Phatthalung Province and Amphoe Ranot and Krasae Sin in Songkhla Province .

In the eastern part of the county is the bank of Thale Luang, the northern part of Songkhla Lake .

history

Klang Mueang ( กลางเมือง ) County was one of the three original counties established in 1896. In 1917 it was renamed Lampam ( ลำปำ ) after the municipality in which the administration was based. In 1924 the administration was transferred to Tambon Khuha Sawan, and in 1938 the district was finally renamed Mueang Phatthalung.

Local administration

Phatthalung ( เทศบาล เมือง พัทลุง ) is a city ( Thesaban Mueang ) in the district, it consists of the entire Tambon Khuhu Sawan and parts of the Tambon Khao Chiak, Tha Miram, Prang Mu, Lampam, Tamnan and Khuan Maphrao.

There are also nine small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Khok Cha-ngai ( เทศบาล ตำบล โคก ชะ งาย ) consists of the whole tambon Khok Cha-ngai.
  • Khao Chiak ( เทศบาล ตำบล เขา เจีย ก ) consists of further parts of the Tambon Khao Chiak.
  • Tha Miram ( เทศบาล ตำบล ท่า มิ ห รำ ) consists of further parts of the Tambon Tha Miram.
  • Na Thom ( เทศบาล ตำบล นา ท่อ ม ) consists of the whole tambon Na Thom.
  • Prang Mu ( เทศบาล ตำบล ปราง หมู่ ) consists of further parts of the Tambon Prang Mu.
  • Rom Mueang ( เทศบาล ตำบล ร่ม เมือง ) consists of the whole tambon Rom Mueang.
  • Phaya Khan ( เทศบาล ตำบล พญา ขัน ) consists of the whole tambon Phaya Khan.
  • Na Not ( เทศบาล ตำบล นา โหนด ) consists of the whole tambon Na Not.
  • Tha Khae ( เทศบาล ตำบล ท่า แค ) consists of the whole Tambon Tha Khae.

There are also four "Tambon Administration Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ) for the Tambon or the parts of Tambon in the county that do not belong to any town.
