Amphoe Si Banphot ( Thai : อำเภอ ศรี บรรพต ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in Phatthalung Province . The Phatthalung Province is located in the southern region of Thailand , about 840 km south of Bangkok on the Malay Peninsula .

Neighboring districts and areas (clockwise from north): the Pa Phayom , Khuan Khanun and Srinagarindra Amphoe in Phatthalung Province and Na Yong , Mueang Trang and Huai Yot Amphoe in Trang Province .
The Khao Pu - Khao Ya ( อุทยานแห่งชาติ เขา ปู่ - เขา ย่า ) National Park is in the district. It is called Pha Porommachan ( ป่า พรหมจรรย์ , roughly: virgin forest ) by the locals , as it is a primeval forest that has grown without human intervention .
history
Si Banphot was established on December 1, 1977 by separating three tambon from Amphoe Khuan Khanun . Then on November 4, 1993, Si Banphot was promoted to an Amphoe.
