Amphoe Huai Yot ( Thai : อำเภอ ห้วยยอด ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the north of Trang Province . Trang Province is located in the west of the southern region of Thailand .

Neighboring counties and areas are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Ratsada of Trang Province, Amphoe Thung Song of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province , Amphoe Pa Phayom and Si Banphot of Phatthalung Province , Amphoe Mueang Trang and Wang Wiset in Trang and Amphoe Bang Khan back in Nakhon Si Thammarat province .

Huai Yot was originally called Khao Khao (Thai: เขา ขาว ). It got its current name in 1939.

Amphoe Huai Yot is divided into 16 subdistricts ( tambon ) , which are further subdivided into 133 village communities ( muban ) .

Local administration
There are five small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the county:
- Huai Yot ( เทศบาล ตำบล ห้วยยอด ) consists of parts of the tambon Huai Yot and Khao Pun,
- Na Wong ( เทศบาล ตำบล นา วง ) consists of parts of the Tambon Na Wong, Bang Kung and Wang Khiri,
- Lam Phu Ra ( เทศบาล ตำบล ลำ ภู รา ) consists of parts of the tambon Lam Phu Ra,
- Tha Ngio ( เทศบาล ตำบล ท่า งิ้ว ) consists of the whole tambon Tha Ngio,
- Huai Nang ( เทศบาล ตำบล ห้วย นาง ) consists of the whole tambon Huai Nang.
There are also 14 “Tambon Administrative Organizations ” ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO) for the Tambon or the parts of Tambon in the county that do not belong to any city.
