Amphoe Mueang Trang ( Thai : อำเภอ เมือง ตรัง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in Trang Province . Trang Province is located in the extreme south of the southern region of Thailand .
geography
Trang is located on Maenam Trang about 20 km from the Indian Ocean . The surroundings appear as a gentle, hilly landscape with endless rubber plantations .
Neighboring districts (clockwise from the south): the Amphoe Na Yong , Yan Ta Khao , Kantang , Sikao , Wang Wiset and Huai Yot of Trang Province and Amphoe Si Banphot of Phatthalung Province .

Amphoe Mueang Trang is divided into 15 communities ( tambon ) , which are further divided into 118 villages ( muban ) .

Trang ( เทศบาลนคร ตรัง) is a city ( Thesaban Nakhon ) in the county, it encompasses the entire Tambon Thap Thiang.
There are also three small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) :
- Khlong Teng ( เทศบาล ตำบล คลอง เต็ง ) consists of parts of the Tambon Na Tham Nuea.
- Khok Lo ( เทศบาล ตำบล โคก หล่อ ) consists of the whole tambon Khok Lo.
- Na Ta Luang ( เทศบาล ตำบล นา ตา ล่วง ) consists of the whole tambon Na Ta Luang.
There are also twelve "Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO) for the Tambon or the parts of Tambon in the county that do not belong to any city.
