Yan Ta Khao District ( Thai : อำเภอ ย่านตาขาว ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) of Trang province . Trang Province is located in the southern region of Thailand .

Adjacent counties and areas are (from south clockwise): Amphoe Palian , Kantang , Mueang Trang and Na Yong in Trang province and Amphoe Srinagarindra and Kong Ra of Phatthalung Province .

history

Yan Ta Khao was set up on January 1, 1948, initially as a small district ( King Amphoe ) under the administration of Kantang . It originally consisted of six tambon - Yan Ta Khao, Nong Bo and Thung Khai were separated from Kantang, Na Chum Het from Mueang Trang and Nai Khuan and Phrong Chorakhe from Palian. On June 5, 1956, Yan Ta Khao received full Amphoe status.

Local administration

There are three small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the county:

  • Yan Ta Khao ( เทศบาล ตำบล ย่านตาขาว ) consists of parts of the tambon Yan Ta Khao.
  • Thung Krabue ( เทศบาล ตำบล ทุ่ง กระบือ ) consists of the whole tambon Thung Krabue.
  • Khuan Pho ( เทศบาล ตำบล ควน โพธิ์ ) consists of further parts of the Tambon Yan Ta Khao.

There are also six “Tambon Administrative Organizations ” ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO) for the tambon in the county that do not belong to any city.
