Amphoe Bang Khan ( Thai : อำเภอ บาง ขัน ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat . The Nakhon Si Thammarat Province is located in the southern region of Thailand .

geography

The province of Nakhon Si Thammarat is located about 780 kilometers south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula on the Gulf of Thailand .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from north): Thung Yai and Thung Song districts in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ratsada , Huai Yot and Wang Wiset districts in Trang province, and Lam Thap district in Krabi province .

history

Bang Khan was initially set up as a subdistrict ( King Amphoe ) on April 1, 1984 , by separating the three Tambon Bang Khan, Ban Lamnao and Wang Hin from Thung Song district . On April 9, 1992, Bang Khan was promoted to Amphoe.
