Amphoe Tham Phannara ( Thai : อำเภอ ถ้ำ พรรณ รา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat . The Nakhon Si Thammarat Province is located in the east of the southern region of Thailand .

The province of Nakhon Si Thammarat is located about 780 kilometers south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula on the Gulf of Thailand .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from east): Chawang and Thung Yai districts in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Phrasaeng and Wiang Sa districts in Surat Thani province .

history

On April 1, 1990, Tham Phannara was initially set up as a subdistrict ( King Amphoe ) by separating the two tambon Tham Phannara and Khlong Se from the Amphoe Chawang . The administration was initially located within Wat Tham Phannara until the current administration building was opened on October 4, 1993. On September 7, 1995, Tham Phannara received full amphoe status.
