Amphoe Chang Klang ( Thai : อำเภอ ช้าง กลาง ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat . The Nakhon Si Thammarat Province is located in the southern region of Thailand .

The province of Nakhon Si Thammarat is located about 780 kilometers south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula on the Gulf of Thailand .

Neighboring boroughs (clockwise from north): Chawang District , Lan Saka , Thung Song and Na Bon . All districts are in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

history

Chang Klang was set up as a subdistrict ( King Amphoe ) on July 15, 1996 by separating the three southeastern Tambon Amphoe Chawang .

On May 15, 2007 the Thai government decided to raise all 81 King Amphoe to simple amphoe status in order to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007 this decision officially entered into force.

Local administration

There are two small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the county:

  • Lak Chang ( เทศบาล ตำบล หลัก ช้าง ) consists of the whole Tambon Lak Chang.
  • Suan Khan ( เทศบาล ตำบล สวน ขัน ) consists of the whole tambon Suan Khan.

Tambon Chang Klang is administered by a "Tambon Administrative Organization" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
