Amphoe Sichon ( Thai อำเภอ สิชล ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the north of the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat . The province of Nakhon Si Thammarat is located in the southern region of Thailand , about 780 km south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula to the Gulf of Thailand .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from the south): the Amphoe Tha Sala and Nopphitam in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Kanchanadit and Don Sak in the province of Surat Thani and Khanom in Nakhon Si Thammarat. To the east lies the Gulf of Thailand .
The National Park Namtok Si Khit also located in the district of Sichon.

Amphoe Sichon is divided into nine communities ( tambon ) , which in turn are divided into 106 villages ( muban ) .

Local administration
There are two small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the county:
- Sichon ( เทศบาล ตำบล สิชล ) consists of parts of the Tambon Khanom.
- Thung Sai ( เทศบาล ตำบล ทุ่ง ใส ) consists of the entire tambon Thung Sai.
There are also eight “tambon administration organizations” (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ) for the tambon or the parts of tambon in the county that do not belong to any town.
