Amphoe Chulabhorn ( Thai : อำเภอ จุฬา ภร ณ์ ; pronunciation: [ ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː t͡ɕùlaːpʰɔːn ]) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the south of the Nakhon Si Thammarat province in southern Thailand .

The district was named "Amphoe Chulabhorn" in honor of Princess Chulabhorn Walailak , the youngest daughter of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) , on the occasion of her 36th birthday.

The province of Nakhon Si Thammarat is located about 780 kilometers south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula on the Gulf of Thailand .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from north): Ron Phibun , Cha-uat and Thung Song . All Amphoe are in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

history

The county was established on 7 March 1994 by the two tambon Ban Khuan courage and Ban Cha-uat of Cha-uat District and the four tambon Khuan Nong Khwa, Thung Pho, Na Mo Bun and Sam Tambon from Ron Phibun District merged were .
